O filme trata de Gru, um homem que se diz o maior vilão do mundo, tentando realizar suas malvadezas, sempre tendo como rival o jovem Vetor.

Com um estilo bem fluido de animação, uma trama legal (Gru quer roubar a lua) e personagens engraçados e bonitinhos, como as 3 órfãs das quais o vilão tem que cuidar e os minions, seus pequenos ajudantes amarelos, Meu Malvado Favorito provavelmente será uma boa estreia da Universal no mundo dos longas 3D.
